Youth representative of iEARN Sierra Leone

iEARN came in me like a buzz and then a vision, and then an action, and then a powerful result. I rose to the position of youth representative based on my relentless action amongst peers. as well as my leadership potential.

Since 2001 and 2002, I became motivated to connect to the iEARN global family, my interaction amongst youth led to the first establishment of iEARN ICT and peace clubs at my former high school: Albert Academy Secondary School.

Till 2005, in my school, I became first the club head, and spearheading meeting in peace, ICT and youth empowerment. My principle, Mr. Albert Fofie Kawa, seen in me bathing amazing, and wanted to see how iEARN Sierra Leone is changing the lives of the youth.

I invited him to the iEARN center during the visit of tonny Robert and Angela anyiam from computer aid international.

This created new windows of opportunity for my school. Andrew Greene, endevour the shipment of 10: computers to Albert Academy school for the expansion of iEARN Sierra Leone in the school.

I realized that I must not stop my activitism in my school, and so decided to extend in other schools where youth can experience the power of I.C.T.
So my outreach campaign and propagation of the ideals of iEARN reached as far as 12 schools.

Through iEARN, I was opportune to involved in a variety of workshops, including international youth day: which was held on the 10th of august 2005, also participated at the hands up for girls education, that was on 15th of February 2003. Africa youth network, held on the 8th of March 2005. On the 16 February 2004, plan Sierra Leone decentralization and country wide sensitization campaign for birth and death registration.
On the 18th of January, allotted the task of been a key not speaker for the environment network online (E.N.O) project.

Also participated a youth representative at the launching of he millennium development goal (M.D.G) On the 11th of May, I was opportune to witness the declaration of the human Right in Sierra Leone.

I was also given the opportunity to attend the common wealth workshop at British council as a youth representative of iEARN Sierra Leone. I also participated in several music and film programmes that help me to interact with other youth, as well as brain stom in debate at the iEARN center.

On my return from the iEARN conference in Dakar, I shared a vivid meaning and experience about my insightful trip to youth both at the iEARN center and thought the ‘’youth in perspective, T-V. Program.

franklin working with two human right interns at the iEARN centre

On the 20th of May, 2006 I had just dropped off three british friends, Jon,Matt and Murray.

That was an interesting week for me to be part of the training session, and was so thrilled to learn all the video editing and journal skills writing which these wonderful gallaxy taught us in iEARN Sierra Leone.

However, I did n't realise that I was going to pick up two interns from american who are here to learn about iEARN peace and conflict studies.

Well the director Andrew Benson Greene jr charged me with the task of doing the pick up from lungi international airport.

Therefore I had to lounge around waiting for a delayed flight that seem to be there hanging in the air forever. Well as an iEARN Yoth representative, I think that, that is part of my youth oblication.

At 4:am, the flight finally arrived, and so I was in hands two international interns Faith and Holly.
And we finally took the overcraft to Freetown.

Hey Franklin!

Hope you're well. We didn't get to say goodbye properly which was a shame. I hope you made it home with no problems and that you've had a good rest over the weekend.
Thanks again for helping us out so much. All of us really appreciated it.

Well here's your blog. I'll email you with all of the username and password details.

Naturally, you can change it anyway you like. You need to spend some time playing with you profile and the settings to get yourself accustomed to it.

Email me if you get stuck, but I think that if you can manage to spend an hour or so playing, then you'll pick it all up quite easily.

OK, I'll go email now, but first I'll put a picture on of you laughing at a particularly funny letter!
